PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving support apparatus in which, when a present vehicle is traveling on a joining lane, a position of another vehicle indicating the will of allowing an intrusion to the present vehicle can be notified to a driver.SOLUTION: A control ECU 1 acquires from a navigation system 18 a current position of a present vehicle and a map indicating road layout in the vicinity of the current position, displays the map on a display section 17, and superimposes an index indicating the current position of the present vehicle. Furthermore, the control ECU 1 analyzes signals input from a rear millimeter wave radar 15 and a rear image sensor 16 to detect the position of the vehicle on a main lane, superimposes an index indicating the position of the vehicle on the main lane on the map displayed on the display section 17, detects a vehicle which has performed passing from among vehicles on the main lane, and changes an indication of an index of that vehicle.
