Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a control device which controls a client not only to acquire configuration information of a chapter from a server but also to set the chapter configuration information set by the control device in the server, and also to enable the server and the control device to mutually acquire the configuration information of the chapter even when the chapter has a structure with a plurality of chapter lists.SOLUTION: A control method for controlling a transmitting device which transmits content and a receiving device which receives the content via a network comprises: a step of acquiring chapter information indicating a break position of a scene of the content from the transmitting device and a step of transmitting an instruction to reproduce the content from the break position of the scene of the content indicated by the acquired chapter information to the receiving device.
