RECORD REPRODUCING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that, where cache management information for management of cache data is stored in a volatile memory within a record reproducing device, the cache management information is deleted when power supply is cut off, and to meet the need for an efficient method of backing up the cache management information in a recording medium mounted on the device.SOLUTION: Cache management information is recorded in a memory (e.g. SRAM) built into a record reproducing device, whose storage control unit, when it detects updating of the cache management information for instance, writes the cache management information onto an HDD for instance to save for backup or, when the control unit detects turning-on of the record reproducing device for instance, reads out the cache information saved for backup on the HDD for instance.
