PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door handle device capable of improving design while evading the detection sensitivity decline of an electrode for lock detection.SOLUTION: The door handle device includes: a first handle case 11 having a holding part 11a provided with a gap GP from the outer side face of an outer panel 20; a second handle case 12 attached to the first handle case 11 so as to cover the first handle case 11; a conductive piece 14 provided on the outer side face of the second handle case 12; an electrode 31 for lock detection, provided facing the inner side face of the second handle case 12 facing the conductive piece 14 so as to be capacitively coupled with the conductive piece 14, for detecting a door lock command on the basis of the change of capacitance accompanying the contact or proximity of a vehicle user to the conductive piece 14; and a decorative piece 15 surrounding the conductive piece 14 and joined to the outer side face of the second handle case 12 to form a design surface.
