SEPARATOR FOR ALKALINE BATTERY AND ALKALINE PRIMARY BATTERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator for an alkaline battery maintaining various characteristics such as alkali resistance, denseness, retainability and electrical characteristics, at high levels and further excellent in impact resistance.SOLUTION: A separator for an alkaline battery includes an alkali-resistant synthetic fiber, a fibrillated organic solvent-spun cellulose fiber having a beating degree of 10-550 ml as a CSF value, and further mercerized pulp having a beating degree of 450 ml or more as a CSF value, while a ratio by weight of the synthetic fiber, the cellulose fiber and the pulp is 30-60%:5-20%:35-50%. The separator is formed of a wet nonwoven fabric in which the fibrillated organic solvent-spun cellulose fiber and the mercerized pulp are twisted together.
