Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a highly reliable lithium secondary battery with a good yield and without fear of combustion owing to an internal short circuit.SOLUTION: A device for manufacturing an electrode plate for a lithium secondary battery is composed of a coating device which comprises: a foreign material detector 2 provided in a flow path 10 of slurry for forming an electrode film 12 for detecting a metallic foreign material having mixed into the slurry; a rejection valve 3 provided downstream of the foreign material detector 2 for switching the flow path to flow the slurry through between a normal flow path 10b and a discharge flow path 10a based on a foreign material detection signal from the foreign material detector; a flow-rate regulation tank 4 provided in the normal flow path 10b downstream of the rejection valve for keeping the flow rate of the slurry fixed; and a coating part 9 provided downstream of the flow-rate regulation tank 4 for coating a metal foil 11 with the slurry. The device allows the manufacture of a lithium secondary battery arranged to prevent a metallic foreign material from causing an internal short circuit.
