Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a permanent magnet rotor which can achieve a highly efficient structure of a rotary electric machine with a reduced torque pulsation by minimizing and uniformizing an air gap between a rotor and a stator, and also to provide a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: The permanent magnet rotor comprises a rotor core 2 and permanent magnet pieces 3 coupled to the outer peripheral surface of the rotor core 2 via a separation part at equal intervals. The outer peripheral surface of each of the permanent magnet pieces is ground with a grind stone 8 with a rotation axis of the rotor as a center, in the circumferential direction of the rotor, and coaxially with the rotation axis of the rotor, thereby achieving the permanent magnet rotor whose outer peripheral surface is processed to have high roundness.
