Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a topical formulation and a method for treating, controlling, or preventing parasitic infestation on mammals or birds.SOLUTION: The formulation includes at least one 1-N-arypyrazole derivative and formamidine, such as amitraz, and may includes a further ectoparasiticide, such as an IGR compound, an avermectin or milbemycin derivative, or a pyrethroid insecticide and/or an anthelmintic such as benzimidazole or imidazothiazole. The formulation provides a larger duration of parasite control at a faster rate of control. The formulation remains effective up to three months from the first application. Moreover, the formulation includes spot-on, pour-on or spray formulation and thereby providing control, treatment and prevention against ectoparasites including ticks, fleas, mites, mange, lice, mosquitoes, flies and warble flies.
