Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for stretching an optical film.SOLUTION: The method for treating a film includes: a step of conveying a film within the stretching apparatus along the flow direction while holding the opposed ends of the film; and a step of stretching the film within the stretching apparatus to have a stretched film by moving the opposed ends along a folding-fan like nonlinear path. The speed of the film along the flow direction during stretching of the film decreases by about λ, where λ is a transverse direction draw ratio.
