PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating cooker that correctly determines the presence of a user when an operation switch is operated, in a heating cooker equipped with a human detecting means.SOLUTION: The heating cooker includes a heating means for heating an object to be heated, an operation switch for setting the start or stop of an operation of the heating means, a notifying means for notifying the user of specified guide information, a human detecting means for detecting the presence of the user, and a controller for controlling the heating means and notifying means on the basis of input from the human detecting means or the operation switch. The controller derives a first determination on the presence or absence of the user according to the detection result of the human detecting means, and when it is determined that the user is absent according to the first determination and the operation switch is operated within a specified duration after the first determination, it configures the heating cooker such that the determination changes to the one that any user is present.
