PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device which improves the luminous efficiency of extracted light.SOLUTION: A light emitting device 1 includes an optical transparency ceramic substrate 3 on which a light emitting element 2 is mounted and a radiation fin 5 provided on a lower surface of the ceramic substrate 3 and connecting with the ceramic substrate 3 through optical transparency heat radiation grease 4. On a surface of the radiation fin 5, the emissivity of a first region F1 which faces the lower surface of the ceramic substrate 3 is smaller than the emissivity of a second region F2 which is a portion of the radiation fin 5 excluding the first region F1.
