Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a purity measurement sensor and system hardly influenced by ambient temperature and gas temperature, for purity monitoring of gas used as a coolant in an electrical generator.SOLUTION: A system includes: an electrical generator (12) comprising a stator, a rotor, and a gas coolant path (18) through an interior of the electrical generator; and at least one fiber optic purity sensor (34) configured to sense a gas purity of a flow of a gas coolant (52) through the gas coolant path. The fiber optic purity sensor may comprise: a fiber core; grating structure with a periodically modulated refractive index; a fiber cladding positioned around the grating structure; and a multilayered sensing film positioned around the fiber cladding.
