PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure a discharge interval with a specified value or more between a preceding product and a following product after cutting in a paper processing device which includes a cutting mechanism for cutting a sheet of paper in a direction crossing orthogonally to a paper carrying direction, first and second carrying rollers on both sides in the paper carrying direction of the cutting mechanism, a driving mechanism for driving them independently, a controller, and a paper receiver.SOLUTION: When a cutting and removal width in the paper carrying direction is more than a reference value in a cutting and removal region between adjoining preceding and following products in the paper carrying direction, continuous cutting mode is executed to operate first and second carrying rollers 11 and 12 usually and synchronously and perform continuous cutting. When the cutting removal width is zero or under the reference value, interval adjustment mode is executed to ensure a discharge interval with a specified value or more between the preceding and following products after cutting, by halting the first carrying roller 11 and operating only the second carrying roller 12, and both modes are freely changeable.
