Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retort device advantageous in reducing the time necessary for heat-sterilizing an object to be treated.SOLUTION: Steam is fed to a primary side 1602 of a heat exchanger 16 through a steam feeding circuit 22, and a heat medium 28 is heated by the heat exchange between the steam and the heat medium 28 by the heat exchanger 1602. The heat medium 28 is jetted from a jet nozzle 1406 to the treated object in a treatment tank 14 by circulating the heated heat medium 28 through a heat medium circulation circuit 18, so that the treated object is heated. A medium heating means 26 executes heat exchange between the drain collected through a drain collection circuit 24 and the heat medium 28 in a heat medium tank 12. In this way, the heat medium 28 to be used for the next heat-sterilization is heated.
