Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a record playback device connected via a bidirectional communication interface and a method of controlling a device connected to the record playback device.SOLUTION: The record playback device according to an embodiment comprises: a network control module configured to acquire a program or data via a network; a signal processing module configured to transmit and receive the program or data or a control signal by bidirectional communications; a determination module configured to determine and make a notification, when an external device is connected to the signal processing module via a device connected via the bidirectional communication interface and when the connected device and the external device receive an instruction to turn off the power from the signal processing module, that each of the connected device and the external device can be powered off according to the instruction to turn off the power.
