PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit encoded data efficiently.SOLUTION: A host 110 acquires JPEG data and performs output control or record control of the JPEG data. An encoded data generating part 241 encodes image data generated by an imaging element 220 according to a JPEG method to generate the JPEG data in response to an output request from the host 110. An invalid data giving part 242 gives invalid data to the JPEG data to generate final output data so as to be the amount of output data. An encoded data output part 243 outputs the generated final output data to the host 110. A CPU 230 determines each size of the synchronization signal used at the time of the output to the host 110 based on the JPEG data and notifies the host 110 of each determined size. After the notification, control to output the final output data is performed according to each synchronization signal related to the determined size.
