PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine the workload degree of a subject from a biosignal.SOLUTION: This workload degree determining device 1 includes an electrocardiographic peak detecting section 11 acquiring an instant heart rate and a pulse wave propagation time corresponding to each heart beat of the subject from the subject's electrocardiographic signals and pulse wave signals that vary periodically; an inter-peak time computing section 12; a pulse wave peak detecting section 14; a difference time computing section 15; a standardized pulse wave propagation time computing section 16 computing a standardized pulse wave propagation time corresponding to one pulse wave propagation time based on the first predetermined number of continuous pulse wave propagation time in immediate vicinity whenever one pulse wave propagation time is acquired; a standardized instant heart rate computing section 13 computing a standardized instant heart rate corresponding to one instant heart rate based on the second predetermined number of continuous instant heart rates in immediate vicinity whenever one instant heart rate is acquired; and a determining section 19 determining the workload degree of the subject based on the standardized pulse wave propagation time and the standardized instant heart rate corresponding to a heartbeat the third predetermined number before a heartbeat corresponding to the standardized pulse wave propagation time.
