ENTROPY ENCODING/DECODING METHOD AND DEVICE FOR VIDEO PROCESSING OF HIERARCHIC STRUCTURE AND SYMBOL ENCODING/DECODING METHOD AND DEVICE THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide entropy encoding/decoding method and device applicable to video processing technology of a hierarchic structure, and to provide a symbol encoding/decoding method and device therefor.SOLUTION: The entropy decoding method includes a step for performing symbol decoding in units of a corresponding symbol according to a context model determined in units of 2-4 symbols for the bit sequence of a received residual video, and a step for arranging the decoded coefficients of the residual video in the original order in a frequency region. The symbol decoding can be carried out together with the level decoding, and can be carried out in units of at least 2 symbols for the bit sequence of a received residual video by using an inherent symbol value.
