PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing cleaning failure induced by a toner that is formed into a sphere or a small diameter, while preventing image deletion, and further, to form a high-quality image by an image forming apparatus responding to various environmental conditions for a long period of time.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a cleaning mechanism for removing a transfer residual toner and a photosensitive drum containing a polycarbonate resin having a weight average molecular weight of 7.5×10or more and 3.7×10or less in a surface layer. The toner used in the image forming apparatus comprises toner particles containing at least a binder resin, and a fatty acid metal salt; and the fatty acid metal salt has a median diameter (D50) on a volume basis of 0.15 μm or more and 0.65 μm or less.
