TARGET SHAPE SIMULTANEOUSLY ATTAINING SUPPRESSION OF INITIAL GENERATION PLASMA AND CONVERGENCE OF HIGH-SPEED CHARGED PARTICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a target shape capable of providing a high-speed electron beam and a high-speed ion beam having high intensity compared with conventional ones.SOLUTION: A cone-shaped target 1 has a conical tip end 2, and ultraintense laser 3 is applied thereto from an opening. The tip end of the cone-shaped target 1 is formed into a conical shape using a substance having an atomic number larger than that of the periphery, a magnetic force is generated on the tip end side face by high-speed electrons generated by the irradiation of the ultraintense laser 3, and the high-speed electrons and high-speed ions are spatially enclosed and radiated from the conical tip end 2 as high-speed electrons and high-speed ions having high intensity.
