Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-conductive resin composition having high thermal conductivity obtained by controlling fracture loss of carbon fibers in the kneading process.SOLUTION: This method for producing the heat-conductive resin composition includes kneading a carbon fiber with a matrix resin under maximum shear stress of 0.1-2 MPa and at melt viscosity 100-2,000 Pa s of the resin at kneading, wherein the carbon fiber satisfies following conditions: the average fiber diameter of 5-20 μm and the average fiber length of 20-500 μm observed by an optical microscope; the aspect ratio of 4-50; and the tensile strength in the fiber axis direction of 1,000 MPa or more.
