Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat insulating material that prevents desorption of inorganic fine particles from a heat insulating molding as a base material, has a highly smooth surface preventing cracks on its outer surface, and is free from any restriction on working temperature and shape.SOLUTION: On the heat insulating molding containing nano-particles, a coating layer is formed which contains aluminum phosphate of 5-50 mass%, inorganic particles of 0.5-10 μm in arithmetic mean particle diameter and of 40-90 mass%, and an inorganic binder of 0-10 mass% in terms of solid content. The coating layer has an intruding part through which a component constituting the coating layer intrudes into the heat insulating molding on an interface with the heat insulating molding.
