Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing 2'-deoxynucleoside (dNS) suitable for industrial production.SOLUTION: The method produces dNS via 2-deoxyribose (dR) by performing one of the following steps (i), (ii), and (iii): (i) synthesizing dR by subjecting a divalent metal salt of 2-dehydro-3-deoxygluconic acid (KDG) to the decarboxylation reaction, and synthesizing dNS with the obtained dR as a reaction intermediate; (ii) synthesizing dR from KDG or its salt by using a mutant enzyme having a dR synthesizing ability, and synthesizing dNS with the obtained dR as a reaction intermediate; and (iii) synthesizing dR5P from dR by using a mutant enzyme with a 2-deoxyribose-5-phosphate (dR5P) synthesizing ability, and synthesizing dNS from the obtained dR5P.
