Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a spun-dyed polylactic acid staple fiber for a carpet which has a hydrolysis resistance, a high quality and no irregularity in color.SOLUTION: A method for producing a spun-dyed polylactic acid staple fiber comprises: melt spinning a polylactic acid-based resin composition in which an epoxy compound of tri-functional or higher functional and a component for spin dyeing are contained in a polylactic acid-based resin to produce a tow having a total fiber fineness of 10 to 100 ktex; drawing the tow in a hot water bath containing at least one smoothing agent component at a concentration of 0.01 to 0.5 wt% at a temperature of 80 to 95°C; imparting a mechanical crimping to the drawn tow so that the drawn tow has a crimp degree of 5 to 18%; and cutting the mechanically crimped tow to a predetermined fiber length.
