Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a liquid crystal composition without lowering its specific resistance, and especially in the case of a composition for an active matrix, without lowering a voltage holding rate (VHR) either.SOLUTION: In this method for producing a liquid crystal composition, two or more kinds of liquid crystal compounds are dissolved into a hydrocarbon-based solvent, and filtered by a filter whose pore diameter is 10-0.001 μm, and then the solvent is removed. Since a liquid crystal composition produced by this method has a high specific resistance, and a liquid crystal composition for an active matrix has a high voltage holding rate, the method is very useful for production of a liquid crystal composition requiring reliability.
