PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biometric authentication device reducing time for authentication.SOLUTION: A biometric authentication device 10 has: setting data storage unit 14 for storing at least one piece of information concerning an operating condition of an apparatus and a body of a target person that are used for creating collation information as setting data in association with personal identification information or the collation information; and a setting unit 31 for reading out the setting data based on personal identification information input at authentication or the collation information determined by the input personal identification information, then based on a result of comparison between the read setting information with position information of the body, setting at least a part of the read setting information in a biometric authentication information acquiring unit 12 to acquire the biometric authentication information.
