LIGHT SOURCE DEVICE FOR ENDOSCOPE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a space-saving light source device for an endoscope, including an opening/closing mechanism of a light shielding plate even while avoiding a load on the incident end of a light guide.SOLUTION: This light source device for the endoscope includes: a casing storing a light source lamp; and a light guide installation part fixing the incident end of the light guide installed to a connector body of the endoscope on an optical path of the light source lamp. The light guide installation part has: an insertion port into which the incident end is inserted; a light guide reception part supported slidably inside the insertion part in the axial direction; the light shielding plate interlocking with the light guide reception part; and an energizing means energizing the light guide reception part to the side before the insertion port, and disposing the light shielding plate in the optical path between the light source lamp and the insertion port. When the light guide reception part receives the light guide inserted in the insertion port to slide in the axial direction, the light shielding plate evacuates from the optical path between the light source lamp and the insertion port.
