PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of acquiring an intended cooling effect on an image retaining body across an axial direction of a heating rotator provided on a fixing device, despite a simple configuration.SOLUTION: Positions of a partition wall 112 and a partition rib 20 for partitioning a first duct 114 and a second duct 116 of an inflow duct part 102 are determined by taking account of the volume of cooling air at a position where the cooling is required. In this manner, the positions of the partition wall 112 and the partition rib 20 are determined by taking account of the volume of the cooling air at the part where the cooling is required, such that the intended cooling effect is acquired on the image retaining body 36 and the like across the rotating axis direction of the heating rotator 52 of the fixing device 50. For example, when a heat source of a driving motor or the like is provided at just one side in the axial direction of the image retaining body 36, this constitution can improve the cooling effect on the one side.
