IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always suppress degradation in picture quality due to toner density in a developing device and to improve a process throughput of a series of printing jobs without a temporary interruption of image formation processing.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus predicts, prior to carrying out a print job, a change amount of toner density due to toner consumption upon carrying out each print job registered and stored, and also predicts a change amount of toner density by toner replenishment during carrying out each print job; rearranges an execution order of the registered and stored print jobs based on a current toner density detected in a developing device, a preliminarily set target value of the toner density and each predicted change amount of toner density; informs a user of the rearrangement; executes only the first print job in the rearranged order of the print jobs; and then similarly repeats the above processes.
