Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel assembly capable of reducing the content of burnable poisons and improving fuel economy.SOLUTION: The fuel assembly 1 is obtained by arranging a plurality of fuel rods 2 in a state of 10 rows and 10 columns in a channel box 1 and includes a plurality of fuel rods G having gadolinia and a plurality of partial length fuel rods P. In the fuel assembly, the average enrichment of a cross section of a lower region is about 4.6 wt% and the average enrichment of a cross section of an upper region is about 4.7 wt%. The average enrichment of an outermost layer in both of upper and lower regions is about 5.6 wt%. The ratio of the average enrichment e (wt%) of the outermost layer to the average enrichment x (wt%) of the cross section of the fuel assembly 1 is 1.19 in the upper region and 1.22 in the lower region and satisfies the shown expression (1).
