Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit proper guidance of a robot by a teaching rod even when the robot receives restriction from facilities around the robot, in a teaching system which controls the robot based on an image obtained by imaging a predetermined figure.SOLUTION: The teaching system for the robot includes an articulated robot 10 which operates an arm 12 having a plurality of joints, a teaching rod 60 employed for the guidance of the robot 10, a display which is provided in the teaching rod 60 to display the image of a calibration board C, and a camera 14 which is provided in the arm 12 to obtain the image by photographing an object. The teaching system includes a robot controller 20, which effects following control of the operation of the arm 12 so that the image of the board C is obtained by the camera 14 as a predetermined objective image, and a teaching pendant 30 which permits change of at least one of the size or the direction of the image of the board C at a position apart from the indicator.
