Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus, an imaging apparatus control method, and a program capable of irradiating a subject with a proper light quantity of auxiliary light .SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus provided with a flash light unit (13) includes: distance measurement means (155) for measuring a distance to the subject; brightness measurement means (156) for measuring the brightness of the subject; light quantity determination means (157) for determining the light quantity of the flash light unit on the basis of the measurement results of the distance measurement means and the brightness measurement means; and face detection means (154) for detecting the face of the subject. The distance measurement means and the brightness measurement means measure a distance from the size of the face detected by the face detection means, and measures the brightness of the face.
