Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface light emitting device capable of achieving thinning of a surface light emitting section while light from a light source is effectively used and high luminance is maintained.SOLUTION: The surface light emitting device includes the light source, and a light guide. The light guide is formed by integrating a light introduction section with a light introducing surface for introducing the light from the light source, the surface light emitting section having a light diffusion surface on one surface side, and a light transmission section for receiving light from the light introduction section by intervening between the light introduction section and the surface light emitting section and transmitting the light to the surface light emitting section. The light introduction section has a portion wherein the thickness of the light introduction section becomes thin toward the light transmission section from a light introducing surface side.
