PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abnormality detection device and an abnormality detection method capable of detecting expansion and contraction of time in a detection section of time series data which is an object of abnormality detection.SOLUTION: The abnormality detection device includes: a data acquisition section which acquires time series data which an object of abnormality detection; an expansion and contraction detection section which detects expansion and contraction of time in the detection section of the time series data which is the object of the abnormality detection, on the basis of the time series data and reference time series data corresponding to the time series data; and a determination section which determines the presence or absence of abnormality on the basis of the detection result of the expansion and contraction detection section.
