PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable easy substitutive printing by another printer on a network present in the vicinity of a printer to which printing is requested even if a user does not carry out complicate work when printing by the printer requested printing through the network becomes impossible.SOLUTION: When detecting a state that a printing job from a PC is impossible to print, a CPU 11 of the printer searches for other printers present near its own apparatus in a search process. When discovering a printer present near its own apparatus, the CPU acquires network information for communicating through the network from the printer in an acquisition process, and performs a check of whether or not network communication can be correctly carried out by an IP address of the acquired network information in a test communication process. When judging that the communication test succeeds, the CPU requires printing by transferring the printing job requested from the PC to the printer in a transfer process.
