PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peripheral information display technique that allows users to easily understand a position shown by a Web document and has a high guide effect for the users.SOLUTION: A peripheral information providing device 10 includes: content position information acquisition means 11 for acquiring content position information of content from a Web site and storing the information in position information storage means 14; content retrieval means 12 for, in response to a request received from a display terminal 20, retrieving the content having the content position information that is within a predetermined range from the terminal position information, from the position information storage means 14 and transmitting the retrieval result to the display terminal 20; and map information providing means 13 for acquiring specified map information from map information storage means 15 and transmitting the information to the display terminal 20. The display terminal 20 includes: map information generation means 22 for specifying the content position information in the retrieval result and acquiring map information from the map information providing means 13; and display switching means 21 for switching a display of the acquired content and a display of the acquired map information in a predetermined time.
