PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device that prevents a liquid from entering an open atmospheric communication channel in a second liquid storage means, even when arranged vertically, reversely or obliquely during transportation or in use, and prevents air leakage in a valve opening and closing mechanism in use.SOLUTION: The image forming device 1 includes: a recording head 14 for discharging a liquid droplet; a first liquid storage means 9 attached detachably to store the liquid supplied to the recording head 14; a second liquid storage means 15 attached detachably for storing temporarily the liquid supplied from the first liquid storage means 9 via a liquid supply flow channel 16, forming negative pressure by deformation of a flexible member 118, and provided with the valve opening and closing mechanism for releasing gas stored in an inside toward the atmosphere; and an opening and closing means 118 for partially sealing and opening the open atmospheric communication channel 114 by part of the flexible member 118 is provided in addition to the valve opening and closing mechanism 116 provided in the second liquid storage means 15, in the image forming device 1.
