Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable traveling by its own arrangement, even when power received from an overhead-line stops or becomes unstable.SOLUTION: A control device of an electric rolling stock 3 includes a capacitor 18 for storing a DC power and a charge-discharge circuit 14 charging part of the DC power at a side end of the smoothing capacitor 6 of an inverter 9 to the capacitor 18 and discharging the DC power stored in the capacitor to the side end of the smoothing capacitor of the inverter. The control device further includes a charge-discharge controller 21 controlling the charge of the charge-discharge circuit 14 during a normal operation of the vehicle 7 and supplying an AC motor 12 with the DC power stored in the capacitor through the inverter by controlling the discharge of the charge-discharge circuit during the abnormal operation of the vehicle.
