PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone system which enables a construction dealer who performs telephone system installation to become skilled in a setting operation of a telephone terminal.SOLUTION: The telephone system is made up of one or more telephone terminals and a main device 10. The main device 10 receives setting data from an apparatus for setting up, such as a personal computer, through a communication network, and stores the received setting data by storage means. The main device 10 generates, by display data generation means, display data for visually notifying of a setting operation corresponding to the received setting data. The generated display data is transmitted to a setting up telephone terminal. The setting up telephone terminal receives the display data sent from the main device 10, and carries out a visualized display on a display screen or an operation panel, for example.
