METHOD AND DEVICE FOR ENTRANCE MIXER CLAMP ASSEMBLY OF BWR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for physically restricting an entrance mixer of a jet pump assembly of a boiling-water reactor (BWR).SOLUTION: An entrance mixer clamp assembly is attached to the top of a transition piece of a jet pump assembly of the BWR to apply downward clamp force to the top of the entrance mixer. The clamp force inhibits the entrance mixer from receiving vibrations, relaxes leakage between the entrance mixer and the transition piece, and seals the surface of the jet pump assembly. The clamp force also inhibits the entrance mixer from undesiredly rotating especially while the jet pump assembly operates. The entrance mixer clamp assembly can be used as an alternative of the conventional jet pump beam assembly. The entrance mixer clamp assembly, as an alternative, can be used as a redundant physical restricting object in addition to the conventional jet pump beam assembly.
