Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanical snubber that obtains large damping force in which gentle movement is not constrained while constraint force is generated in rapid movement.SOLUTION: The mechanical snubber supporting a structure being a support target includes: linear motion parts 1, 2 for linearly moving by receiving force in an axial direction from the structure; rotary motion parts 3, 4 connected to the linear motion parts 1, 2, which convert linear motion into rotary motion; and an elasto-plastic damper 5 which is connected to the rotary motion parts 3, 4 by a rotational force transmitting means 12 when the linear motion of the linear motion parts 1, 2 reaches a prescribed speed. When the elasto-plastic damper 5 is connected to the rotary motion parts 3, 4, an elasto-plastic member 9 of the elasto-plastic damper 5 is deformed by the rotary motion of the rotary motion parts 3, 4. The snubber is configured to attenuate the rotational force of the rotary motion parts 3, 4.
