Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode material that has an excellent rapid charge-discharge characteristic and that suppresses the excess reactivity of the negative electrode material and electrolyte.SOLUTION: The problem is solved utilizing a negative electrode active material having a peculiar top surface structure that is obtained by performing heat treatment (graphitization treatment) to spherical natural graphite and carbonization material precursor as a raw material in a specific temperature range and further grinding and performing re-heat treatment to the material subjected to the heat treatment. Due to the peculiar top surface structure, an active material can be obtained so that the excess reactivity of the negative electrode material and electrolyte is suppressed and a rapid charge-discharge characteristic is excellent.
