Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and lightweight display device, which achieves a lower degree of cathode deterioration, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: A display device 1 includes: a thin film organic EL element 20; and a secondary battery layer 10 provided on one face of the organic EL element 20. The secondary battery layer 10 has an electrolytic layer 13 and a cathode active material layer 11. The cathode active material layer 11 is provided on a side of the electrolytic layer 13 opposite to the organic EL element 20, and emits electrons toward the electrolytic layer 13. The organic EL element 20 includes a light-emitting layer 21 and a transparent cathode layer 22. Further, the display device 1 includes a common anode layer 30 between a face of the electrolytic layer 13 on a side opposite to the cathode active material layer 11 and a face of the light-emitting layer 21 on a side opposite to the transparent cathode layer 22. The common anode layer 30 captures in electrons from the electrolytic layer 13, and applies a voltage to the light-emitting layer 21.
