Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speed change mechanism which automatically changes speed in response to load, with a small number of parts.SOLUTION: The speed change mechanism includes: an output shaft 2 connected to a carrier 14 of a planetary gear speed change mechanism P; an operating ring 16 that rotates relative to a ring gear 12 of the planetary gear speed change mechanism P; and coil springs 17 that apply forces so as to bias the relative rotation attitude to a neutral attitude. The speed change mechanism further includes an operation body 21 which, if the relative rotation attitude between the ring gear 12 and the operating ring 16 is in the neutral attitude, connects the ring gear 12 and the carrier 14, and which, if the relative rotation attitude deviates from the neutral attitude, fixes the ring gear 12 and allows rotation of the carrier 14.
