Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for machining a notched portion in a vertical stiffener for a steel plate deck, which can easily machine the semi-circular notched portion in the vertical stiffener and which can achieve the shortening of working hours and a reduction in labor.SOLUTION: An apparatus 10 for machining a semi-circular notched portion 7 for stress relaxation in a vertical stiffener 5 provided on an undersurface of a deck plate 1 of a steel plate deck includes: a base section 11 that is detachably held via holding means 16 by the vertical stiffener 5; an extended section 12 that is extended out from the base section 11 to a position to machine the notched portion 7; a rotary arm section 14 that is provided on the extended section 12 in such a manner as to be rotatable within a predetermined radius via a supporting shaft 13; and cutting means 15 that is provided for the rotary arm section 14 to machine the semi-circular notched portion 7 in the vertical stiffener 5.
