PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal head and a thermal printer including the same which can reduce scratches and white stripes on a recoding medium generated by foreign material such as paper powder.SOLUTION: The thermal head X includes: a rectangular substrate 7 in a plane view; a head base 3 having a plurality of heating part 9 arranged longitudinally on one end surface 7a extending along the longitudinal direction of the substrate 7; a support member 1 having a base part 1a for supporting the head base 3, and an abutment part 1b arranged oppositely to the other end surface 7b extending along the longitudinal direction of the substrate 7; and a plurality of elastic spacer particles 33 arranged between the other end surface 7b and the abutment part 1b. The plurality of spacer particles 33 are arranged along the longitudinal direction of the substrate 7 and abut on both of the other end surface 7b and the abutment part 1b.
