The gradient coil assembly includes a cylindrical element. The cylindrical element has an inner surface and an outer surface. At least one first isolation material is disposed so as to cover the outer surface of the cylindrical element. A conducting material is disposed so as to cover the isolation material. A method to form the gradient coil assembly is also provided.
