DEVICE AND METHOD FOR SUPPORTING RIGHT-TURN STEERING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for supporting right-turn steering, capable of accurately determining a right-turn waiting position for a vehicle.SOLUTION: A method for supporting right-turn steering comprises: determining a right-turn route distance Lr from a right-turn waiting position to a right-turn completed position, through road-vehicle communication (S101); detecting a current position Pv of a vehicle concerned on map coordinates included in navigation information; and correcting the right-turn route distance Lr determined through the road-vehicle communication, based on a relative positional relationship between the current position Pv of the vehicle and a reference right-turn waiting position Pw. Specifically, the correcting includes: detecting one of areas a to d to which the current position Pv of the vehicle corresponds, in a corrected coordinate system xy having the reference right-turn waiting position Pw as the center (S104); calculating an amount of correction β according to the detected area (S105); and adding the amount of correction β to the right-turn route distance Lr (S106).
