PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distribution device, a stream distribution method, a computer program, and a stream distribution system which are capable of preventing malfunction of a reproduction terminal device by smoothly replacing a stream for viewing with a stream for event notification and distributing the stream for event notification to the reproduction terminal device.SOLUTION: A control unit 11 provided for a distribution device 10 constitutes stream recording means 12, stream distribution control means 13, distribution format discrimination means 14, event stream acquisition means 16, etc. The distribution device 10 is provided with the stream recording means 12, the stream distribution control means 13, the distribution format discrimination means 14, and the event stream acquisition means 16 for acquiring the stream for event notification when an event (event information) is detected. The stream distribution control means 13 controls the distribution for event notification on the basis of meta information on the stream for viewing under distribution and meta information on the acquired stream for event notification.
