BIOMASS CARBONIZATION APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biomass carbonization apparatus which can inhibit generation of the shelf hanging of biomass carbide in the furnace when supplying biomass to a carbonization furnace, forming a filler moving bed, and carbonizing.SOLUTION: The biomass carbonization apparatus includes a carbonization furnace in which biomass is supplied from the upper part of a vertical type carbonization furnace 11 to form a filler moving bed P of biomass in the carbonization furnace 11, a high temperature gas is supplied from the lower part of the carbonization furnace 11, and biomass is made to contact with the high temperature gas, carrying out thermal decomposition to form a carbide, wherein a shelf hanging-preventing device 20 which reciprocates toward the center of the carbonization furnace from the proximity of the inner wall of the carbonization furnace to agitate biomass in the filler moving bed P is included, and the shelf hanging-preventing device 20 includes a shaft member 21 which reciprocates with a horizontal direction component from the carbonization furnace inner wall; and a stirring member 22 which is prepared at the tip of the shaft member 21 and extends in the height direction of the carbonization furnace, and agitates biomass without hindering the transfer of biomass to the lower part of the filler moving bed P.
